Magical Christmas Wishes

Happy Saturday!!!  It's so freaking hot and I stupidly decided to do some cleaning today (I know, I'm insane) and I discovered a bag of scraps of wrapping paper from last Christmas and that has led me here.  I got this paper with Santa riding a unicorn for my nieces. Isn't it cool?  I knew it would make a fabulous card and it did.

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge with The Creative Crafters!!

Happy middle-of-the-month!  It's the fifteenth and that means it's time for a new challenge at Creative Crafters!  As always our challenge is Anything Goes!!!  As it's ten days until Christmas, of course I made a Christmas card!!  I just got this paper and it really inspired me to let it be the star and just bling it up, and I'm so happy that I did!

OMG I love love love LOVE this paper!!

I love allll the bling but those tiny AB pearls around the door might be my favorite.

Taking Christmas in July Literally!!!

Okay, so about two weeks ago, a friend suggested everyone in our little group make a Christmas card with summer colors.

I'm the only one who did it.

I'm not even sure I LIKE the card, but here we are.

90% of my Christmas paper is, you know, Christmas colors.  The rest is pastel.  So I had to make my own background paper and I used a snowflake stamp that resembles a star.  That might be my favorite part.

In general, just a lot of things went into this card.  I just had ZERO inspiration and I didn't want, like, Santa in a swimsuit.  So I decided to make a coffee card, so it would count for that challenge too.  Now for that, it needed a star, but I love stars so that was no big deal.  But the card fell flat with just a star on the cup.  And I didn't like the look of an embossed mug, or of patterned paper (again, wrong colors anyway).  So I added the rainbow out of scraps from a different card.  Do I love it or hate it?  I don't even know.

I Made a Christmas card, because it FLURRIED YESTERDAY!!!!

Thinking of You at Christmas

If you read my previous post, you know that my Christmas cardmaking plans this last week went completely out the window!  I had these wonderful plans to make a card in each shape and some in strange color combinations and a shaker and--anyway, most of it didn't happen.  But I DID work pastels into this Christmas card AND it's not a typical Christmas card.  It's a Thinking of You card with a Christmas theme.  So at least I did that.

CRAFTmas in July - Day Twenty-Four - Christmas Rainbow

So it's been so hot for days.  We had like seven consecutive days in the 90s and it's just been miserable.  Today it rained, but somehow that made things hotter. I'm not even kidding.

Enough about the weather.  The summer isn't exactly conducive to Christmas cardmaking, but I do like making the Christmas cards and watching the Christmas movies.  I bought this stamp & die set from Simon Says Stamp and I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.  I'm not entirely happy with the colors I chose, but I think it turned out okay.
