Masculine Christmas Wishes

Happy last day of June!  I am all set for tomorrow, I've got my Christmas tee shirts (it's actually cool enough tonight for Christmas PJs and socks which given that it's June, I don't have any idea what to do with this development, especially when just last week it was hot enough to fry eggs on the cement!) and my Christmas music and movies and I'm Christmas crafting up the wazoo!!

I wanted to create a card for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Sketch challenge, and when I was going through my patterned papers, I thought that it would be fun to make more of a masculine Christmas card since I never do.

**STASHBUSTERS 2024 PAPER CRAFTING HOP** Week 2 - Hard to Use Paper!

Welcome to the Stashbusters 2024 Paper Crafting Hop hosted by @armenscraftroom, @avedamontedesigns, @bkeeleycrafts, @hilarygreek, @kellysantidesigns, and @touchofmagik. Stashbusters post 3-6 creative, paper projects every other Tuesday. Our goal is to use the items and supplies we already own to create between 81–162 projects in 2024.

Today’s theme is “Layered Cards Using Hard to Use Paper Pads”. So my self-imposed “2020 Project” was I went through all my paper pads and tried to rip out/use up all the paper I disliked. My niece had a field day with a lot of it last year, but that didn’t leave me with a lot for this hop. But I recently bought a bunch of old paper pads on Facebook and this pad was the one I liked the absolute least, so I pulled out those sheets and got to work. (True story: I bought this whole pad for two sheets with clocks because Alice in Wonderland!)

Next Up Is: @missmissamakes

Please hop along with us; we look forward to your comments on our projects and theme interpretations. If you’d like to create your projects using our theme, please use #stashbusters2024, so we can see them too!

Never Too Early To Christmas Shop!!

Happy Sunday!  I am actually very unhappy today because I'm sick as all hell.  But the card must get made, right??

Seriously the only thing harder than crafting while sick may have been making this card without sequins and bling!!

Create It 3 Ways Instagram Hop!

Hi everyone!  I’m participating in an Instagram hop today called Create It 3 Ways!  Hosted by the lovely @amritapettus, this fun hop will take place the third Saturday of every month!  Super fun.  Our first theme is Father's Day/Masculine and I chose to use this amazing Erin Lee Creative cover plate for my cards!

Each of the cards has a different theme while using something the same, that's the point of this challenge.  I set out to do a birthday card, thank you card and a Father's Day card.  Two out of three ain't bad, right?

Initially, this was going to be the birthday card, but I just felt like the Thank You theme worked better here, I don't know why.

My favorite of the three!!  I didn't think this one needed a sentiment, it was almost like it detracted from its awesomeness so I left it as is.

I used all textured and handmade papers which I think really stands out here.

STAMPtember - Day Twenty-Seven - Happy Birthday Brother!

I cannot believe STAMPtember is more than halfway over!  What a whirlwind it's been already of stamping and shopping.  SO FUN!  I don't do a lot of scenic coloring, but this was really peaceful to work on.

Scenic Route - Momenta Brand Ambassador Post!!

Happy Friday!!  I'm kicking off my weekend with another Momenta Brand Ambassador post for you today.  On my way out the door yesterday I discovered I needed an encouraging card for someone about to start a new chapter in their life. With literally minutes to make a card, I grabbed my foiled paper pad and wooden stickers and BOOM!  Instant awesome card.  The recipient loved it, I hope you do too.

Birthdays for Boys

As I work on my arsenal of cards for Cards For Soldiers, I noted someone asked for more masculine birthday cards.  I JUST got this awesome stamp and I thought, why not stamp a stack? I like when I can make a lot of the same card, it makes for a assembly line and I really like that.

Now this color is my favorite, I think, but I like how all four came out.

I actually think the rust one is the most realistic for the kind of old truck it is though.  I do like the differences in the colors.

**MAKE IT MASCULINE** New Challenge with Crafty Girlz!!

Hi everyone!  It's the fifteenth and that means time for a new challenge at Crafty Girlz!!  Our super fun theme this month is Make It Masculine!!!!  We're also now a Just For Fun challenge, which means no sponsors--we're using our stash!!!  I know I have plenty to use :D

I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be a Father's Day card or a birthday card, so I made an optional birthday insert but I didn't glue it down yet, just in case I change my mind.

STAMPtember - Day Sixteen - Flying Fish

This is SUCH a leap for me, pun intended.  I'm not good at masculine cards and I have a hard time with anything that's not sparkly shiny shimmery girly.  You know this about me.  I do like how this turned out though.

Father's Day Flag

I always always always struggle to make cards for Father's Day, my dad's birthday, etc.  Masculine is just NOT my thing.

Anyways, I really just played around to make this card for my dad. I actually kind of love how it turned out.

Alternate Valentine

Happy Hump Day!!  Now that I've spent my hour with the sexiest man alive (Stephen Amell, hello!  I love Adam Levine but he's no Green Arrow....) I can get back to my crafting.  It's been bugging me that all Valentines are so girly.  Pink and red and white, they just scream feminine and I thought, well they don't have to!  They can be any color they want to me.

I decided to make a blue Valentine.  Not only is it PERFECT for a girl to give to her guy, but it's fun and unusual.  I like alternatives to the norm.  They help keep things interesting.

I just love how it came out.  The color and the accents, everything just gelled.  I love projects that turn out like that!

I just had to put glitter somewhere, so I figured the matte Distress Glitter on Cupid's wings would be perfect, 'cause it's glitzy, but still manly.  Plus, he is getting this card from a girl....

I'm entering some challenges of course:
