31 Days of Crafting - Day Thirty-One - Grand Finale - Baby Shower Diaper Cake

I made it, the last day of my month of crafting projects!  I set off to achieve this every year but never quite hit thirty-one projects, so this year is special for me!  And it's an even bigger deal 'cause in thirty-one days, I made thirty-nine projects!

This is it, the gift that goes with my baby shower tag and card.  And I have to admit that a diaper cake seemed soooo daunting at first, but in the end I am THRILLED with how it turned out!!

We started with a Princess theme and went from there.  I LOVE how the cake turned out!  It's soo cute in person!

There's tons of diapers here to help out the new mom-to-be!

The top tier is washcloths :D

And here's a photo of the gift all wrapped up!

I'm entering just a few applicable challenges with this project:
Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  And thank you for sharing my CRAZY craft month with me!  Laters!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Thirty-One - Flutterby Thank Yous

Happy last day of National Craft Month!!  Today I've got two simple thank-you cards to share with you.  These were specifically made for OWH. I like to create cards just for them every week.

The purple one is my favorite, so it's the one I'll choose to enter into a few challenges:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Thirty - Party Girl

I can't believe that this month is almost over!!  I gotta say: All in all it was a TON of work, and somewhat stressful, but I DID IT!!  And I plan to do it again next year!!  (Of course I've got two days to go, so don't quote me!)

Today I've got a card that I started out making to celebrate my 500th blog post, but it just wasn't special enough so instead I put it away until this week.  I'm really happy with how it's turned out:

I looooove how she turned out, especially her super poofy and dimensional skirt!

I'm of course entering some challenges (big shock, right?):

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting. Laters!!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twenty-Eight - Wedding Day

(I'm watching a 90210 rerun as I watch this and laughing my ass off at the clothes they/we/I wore.  Hilariously bad.  Remember the wraparound plaid skirts with the pleats and the buckles?  What were we thinking?!?)

Anyways, I had a commissioned wedding card recently, and I thought this would just be perfect.  It's subtle and classy but also unique.  It also fit the bill for an in-between size--it's a 4x6.

I'm entering a few challenges:

Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge - Week 24

YAY I finished it in time!  I'm always right at the deadline with these projects!!  The Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge this week was Remnant Rub Resist.  This was the first time I ever tried this technique and I LOVED it!!!  You can find this technique in Tim's book, A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol.3 which you can purchase here.

Their lovely sponsor is the Funkie Junkie Boutique!  They're offering up a $25 gift card!

Since it's almost Easter, I pulled out my bunny dies and made an Easter card!!  I didn't put a sentiment on it 'cause I couldn't decide on one.

Of course I'm entering some challenges:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twenty-Five - Snow Fabulous

Happy Hump Day!!  Can you believe we're getting more snow?!?!?  There was like fifteen inches of snow (and ice!!) and now there's nothing and we're getting snow.  UGH.  So I made a wintery card.  Why not?? :D

I made all the embellishments on this card, I just love doing that.  I don't always have the time for it but when I do I love the coordination it allows.

Of course I'm entering some challenges:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twenty-One - Mr. and Mrs.

To have and to hold....had a lot of wedding card commissions lately.  Getting to be that time of year, I guess.  I really like this one, it has such a vintage feel to it, even though the glitter on the image gives it a sort of edge.  This is kind of out of my comfort zone, that made it really fun.

Challenges, of course:

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Ten days to go!  Laters!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twenty - The Beat of Your Drum

This is an emotional card for me to make.  Glee airs its series finale tonight, and even though it is a million feet removed from the show it once was, I'm still really sad about it.  I loved Glee with a firey passion, and I made this card in tribute to it.  It was great, the first three years, and I'm gonna miss it.  I thought, for a minute, about making a sympathy card (which wouldn't be inappropriate, really) but I decided to make something inspirational instead. Mr. Schue always tried to inspire his kids, and I think that was what the show was originally about before Ryan Murphy got struck by lightning and lost his mind.*

And full disclosure: I did love the finale. It was done exactly how it should be done, given what we did (and didn't!) have to work with.  There are things I would've changed but it was good and I loved it.

The colors of this card were chosen based on the colors always used in Glee's logos and the outfits they performed in.  The purple and dark blue are in tribute to the many slushies that were thrown over the years.

Oh and I picked the black bow because the girls often had bows on their competition dresses and sometimes in their hair.

Challenges, of course:

**I'm kidding about the lightning strike--he's perfectly healthy he's just sadistic, cruel and crazy!!!**

One more quickie!!!  I made this Christmas card to donate to OWH, and built it around the sketch challenge at Tis The Season Stamping.

Just four challenges tonight:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Seventeen - Baby Shower Tag

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!  No green cards to share today, though I went girly!  This is the first of three projects I made for a baby shower gift.  This tag was tied around the gift, which is the final project I"ll share with you.

I decorated the back, too.

Gotta advertise :D

31 Days of Crafting - Day Fifteen - She's Lost Her Wings...

...But found that she didn't need them.  One of my favorite Disney movies (and my mother's most favorite) is Sleeping Beauty.  She absolutely adores Maleficent and I made this card for her.

I'm of course entering her in some challenges:

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Half way through my crafty month!  Laters!!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Fourteen - Bride and Groom

For richer, for poorer....I just love how this card turned out.  I went into it with no real ideas.  I knew I wanted to make something A7 sized and use the heart charms, and this is what I wound up with.

The purple and silver doesn't show up how it really looks in person.  Shimmery and so pretty.  The shades of purple really compliment each other.

I'm entering a few challenges with this one:

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Thirteen - Bachelorette

Another commissioned card, this is actually the opposite of what was requested, but she wound up loving it!!

The wedding colors are purple and silver, so I went with that.  I especially love how the background is purple but the silver core comes through some of the embossing.

I'm of course entering a few challenges:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twelve - Take Two - Kitty Cat

Hi again!!  This card is so fun for me, I got to play with  new toys (YAY!!!) and I got to step out of my box and make a cat card.  I don't spend much time around cats 'cause I'm allergic, but I just think this stamp is adorable.  It comes from The Stamps of Life and if you aren't familiar with their stamps, be sure to check out their website.  Stephanie's stuff is soooo cute!!!

I'm of course entering some challenges:

31 Days of Crafting - Day Twelve - Aquamarine

March's birthstone is Aquamarine, and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the digi for the February Progressive Challenge on the Art By Miran FB Group.  This gorgeous image is perfect to accent the color/birthstone of the month.  I originally planned to do this as a birthday card, but as it evolved I realized I didn't want to add a sentiment.

Isn't she just beautiful?!?  I plan to make another card with her soon, she's just gorgeous.

It doesn't fully show up but her dress is shimmery and the gem she's holding is glittery and shiny!  I used shimmery cardstock and paper as well.

I'm of course entering this gorgeous card in some challenges:

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!!

31 Days of Crafting - Day Nine - Barbie Girl

My favorite fashion doll--my favorite toy actually--is turning 56 today.  Barbie influenced everything about my childhood and a great deal of my adult life as well.  Everyone is always so quick to judge her, belittle and demean her.  They really should step back and take a good look at themselves, because Barbie has stood the test of time for over half a century.  She's been a president, a UNICEF ambassador and held a position in each branch of our military.  She's represented many foreign countries, impersonated all of Hollywood's great actresses (and a few horrid, pathetic ones, but that's not really the point) and has always been something POSITIVE for girls to play with.  Yes, Barbie is tall and thin, but she doesn't worry about whether or not she has a thigh gap and she doesn't waste her life posting coffee photos on Instagram.  Maybe kids play differently today, but my Barbies went to work, baked cookies with a wind-up mixer and always decorated for Christmas.  I have wonderful memories of playing with the dolls, even into my teens.  I'm so grateful that she's still around, even though I think on a much smaller scale than before.

I wanted to make a birthday card, I figured that was fitting.

The balloon is a shaker!  I just love how it turned out.  It's also shimmery, though you can't quite tell in the photo. Barbie's shoes and headband are shimmery as well.

I'm of course entering some challenges with this special card:

This is my interpretation:

I'm entering some challenges, of course:

I promise that I colored today as well, with my Copics for the Daily Maker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  This card also has Wink of Stella pens and Stardust gelly pens but I didn't know if those counted.

31 Days of Crafting - Day Seven - Birthday Wishes

I love a simple, straight-forward birthday card don't you?  I like to keep them on hand for whatever occasions may arise (or arise for my family members!) and I find a flatter, CAS card is better for random situations and definitely for mailing, even though I struggle with simple designs!

You can't really see it in the photo, but the turquoise present is glittery :D

I'm of course entering a few challenges:
And worry not for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I did a LOT of coloring today, but didn't finish a card with it!

Thanks so much for looking--one week down yay!  Laters!
