Hi everyone! It's the 20th (well, 22nd this time!) of the month, and that means it's time for the Crushing Christmas IG hop! These hops are designed to give you a monthly dose of Christmas cardspiration to help you build your stash all year long! This month's theme is Non-Traditional Christmas Cards!
Love how these cards turned out! I was in a time crunch and the holographic and matte foil cardstocks really made these simple cards look awesome!

This week our challenge was to use any card sketch to make cards with a Graduation or Celebration theme! This was perfect for me as I’m going to be needing a few graduation cards coming up, but I did only get one made so far.
So I wrote my challenge details down wrong in my planner and this was actually the first card that I made for this hop, only I didn't use a card sketch 😂. So I'm using it as a bonus card!

The only thing I like better than a Christmas card is a Christmast cocoa card!!! (Or coffee or tea!) I actually made peppermint hot cocoa the other morning because it might be March, but Michigan weather doesn't know that.

We're back!! Welcome to Week 1 of the Spring Into Cardmaking Hop hosted by @kellysantidesigns! Each Wednesday we will share a themed card focusing on the joy of spring. This week's theme is Birth Month Flowers. If this theme inspires you, please share your creation on IG using the hashtag #springintocardmakinghop.
I actually had so much fun making this card. I had to research what November's birth flower is, and it's chrysanthemum, and then I had to raid my stash for something I could use. I got this set from Unity Stamp Co. along with some astrological stamps last year and had forgotten all about it. The stamps are TINY but I made it work. And I just love this card sketch, you might see different variations of this card in the future :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBIE!! My favorite doll turns 65 today, and as always, I made a card to celebrate it!
I also want to note that while I have been posting birthday cards I make to honor Barbie here on my blog since 2014, I don't really know that the world made such a big deal out of "National Barbie Day" before the whole movie/speech/Kennough thing. (Want me take on all of THAT? Scroll to the bottom, or wait until my post on Wednesday!!)

***BARBIE PSA HERE*** As a lifelong Barbie lover, I have made the not-at-all difficult decision not to watch the movie. It's nothing against Margot Robbie who, from what I've seen on television, plays the part--despite that RIDICULOUS SCRIPT--quite well. She has the look and the personality to embody the doll we all grew up loving. But that's where all the good about this movie ends. Let us not forget too, that Greta Gerwig initially wanted that COW^ Amy Schumer to play this role! The movie is just not what Barbie is about. And look, it's CALLED Barbie, and yes, it features many, many, many Barbies (one of the better aspects of the film), but it's too much about Ken. Poor Ken. Oh get over yourself! Women have taken a backseat to men everywhere since the beginning of time, and she goes and makes the Barbie movie about KEN? Are you kidding me? And then there's Gloria and her "speech". Have any of you seen or read the speech? It's RIDICULOUS. It may have held some water had it been written in 1959 when Barbie was introduced, but today? It's utterly indulgent and insulting to women everywhere!!! I've seen women in shirts with this speech printed on it, and I just shake my head. Do they actually agree with all that BS, or do they just support it because they think they're supposed to? UGH I hate it. I hate it all.
^I apologize to cows everywhere for that analogy, I think most of us would rather have a real cow in our homes than be anywhere near Amy Schumer 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
So last year, I didn't make a card for International Women's Day because I wanted to rebel against all the propaganda the media puts out there. We don't deserve awards just because we're women, we want recognition for who we are and what we do, without attaching our genders to it! Sorry, rant over. Anyways, this year I DID want to make a card for women because I was watching Gilmore Girls, which I adore, and while yes, there are plenty of men in Stars Hollow, at the core, the show is about Lorelai and Rory and their relationship. So I made this card in celebration of THAT.
