The Twelve Crafts of Christmas - Day Ten - Rustic Christmas Shaker

Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing a card that's kind of out of my usual range.  I don't love rustic designs, but a friend gave me a kit full of rustic embellishments and paper, and this is what happened.  I used shimmer watercolors for the background because I gotta be me :D

Foiled Christmas Tree with Dies R Us!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I'm sharing a foiled A7 Christmas tree card today.  Yep, I'm still on my Christmas in July kick.  It's so fun!  I made this card using only one die, and I think that really says something for Tutti Designs that I could make this project using just this one die!  It's called Viney Christmas Tree and isn't it amazing?

It's so hard to photograph foil, but the tree is cut out of Christmas green foil. It's so shiny and bright in person!

I put Scor Tape on the back of the foil cardstock before cutting it with the tree die.  It makes adhering all the little detailed pieces a snap!

I wanted to show here how I cut out the centers of my foiled pieces so I can use them on another project later.  You can also see how I taped my ribbon down on the back of the front panel, too.  I put tape under and on top of the ribbon to keep it secure.

I almost didn't put the bow, but then I decided that it needed it.

I hope this inspires you not only to jump into your Christmas crafting, but to check out the amazing selection of Tutti Designs dies that Dies R Us carries.  You won't be sorry!!  --Lisa

The Twelve Crafts of Christmas - Day Three - Foiled Noel

So sometimes I like to make simpler cards and make a ton of them at once.  That's what I did with this one, and I really like how it came out.

Christmas Joy in July with Dies R Us!!!

Hi everyone!  Lisa here, and I'm sharing a sparkly Christmas slimline card today.  I really love Christmas in July.  It gives me an opportunity to get a jump on all the cards I'd like to make in November and December but just don't have time to get them done.  I've been wanting to play with my Birch Press Belle Ornament dies, so that's what I decided to create this card with.  I used the Ornament Basics die set as well, but it's not required to use the Belle dies.

You can see how the ornament in the center has four layers, the three Belle Ornament layers and the Basics base die as well.

Here are the dies I used to create the ornaments.  I love how you can mix and match all the elements when creating your projects.

This the only photo I took with the Pinkfresh Studios Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles, not sure how that happened.  I used the largest one for my patterned paper layer.

Here I started cutting out the various pieces and layers for my baubles (that's what my aunt calls these old-fashioned shaped ornaments and it's kind of stuck with me).  I tried a mix of foil and glitter on the sides at first, but ultimately made them all glitter and mixed the two for the center ornament instead.

At this point I decided not to use the metal ornament toppers I'd cut out of foil cardstock.  I thought they were too tall for the slimline card and didn't look right.  I like the baubles just the way they are.

Lastly I took this Sizzix Tim Holtz Holiday Words die and cut JOY from the center of the red ornament layer.  I'm saving the actual center for a future project, and only used the letters.

I hope this inspires you to dive into your Christmas crafting now instead of later!  It's a ton of fun, especially when paired with Christmas music or movies.  --Lisa

The Twelve Crafts of Christmas - Day One - Mushroom Tags

On the first day of Christmas, I made Nintendo tags!!  I like to make Nintendo-themed stuff for my brother, and this year he asked me if I could make some tags for him to use.  I figured the mushrooms would be great because they're fun and universal, I didn't even think about him having paper that perfectly matched them.  But look!

How cute are they??

Just love how they turned out!!

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge with Love To Scrap Challenge Blog!!

Happy July!  It's the first so it's time for a new challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and our theme this month is Anything Goes!!  I don't know about where you live, but here in Michigan, we're having way, way way above average HEAT!  We've already hit our usual amount of 90 degree days for JULY in JUNE, so I can only imagine what July and August will be like.  Ugh.  I wanted to make a pool themed card, but I used printed faux leather for the "water" because doesn't this girl look like she'd have some fancy pool with a printed bottom?  I love it.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS IN JULY!  Time to play the Muppets Christmas album and watch Hallmark movies.  (I hate them, but it's like a train wreck, you can't turn away.)  The first of the month also means a new challenge with Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and as always our theme is Anything Christmas Goes.  I made myself a frozen hot chocolate yesterday in preparation of today, so I made a card inspired by that.
