Project Runway Challenge - Week One

Hi guys.  This is something I've been wanting to try for a LONG time now, and I thought to myself, why not?  So this season, I'm doing it.  It won't be exact to the show of course, and I didn't give myself a time limit, but the three cards I made this week took me about six hours not counting drying time.  So here goes nothing.

This first week of Project Runway: Teams there were two challenges, technically.  One to design an outfit inspired by New York City from Afar.  The other was to design something inspired by New York City, View from The Top.  They stressed for the designers to show them who they were.  In a sense, I saw both concepts in the same way, but I did what I could.  There are a few companion pieces yet to come that I'll hopefully show you next week.

New York City From Afar

Since on PR, they always want the designers to tell them about their look, I'll tell you about this card.  Lena is a fairy, and she used to be a human who lived in NYC.  She misses her city and has landed on the water to listen to the sounds of a life she used to live and longs to live again.  I used the lyrics to "Mad World" because music is, of course, who I am, and that song is very relevant to me.

NYC From Afar, #2

This is Sofia.  Sofia is from Long Island and she's headed home after a loooooong day of shopping in the city.  She's lonely though, because even though she can--and does--buy the world, she doesn't have anyone to share with it.  There are amazing 80s lyrics on this card, "Glamorous Life" by Sheila E.

NYC View from The Top

These women are fashionistas who only pretend to be businesswomen to furnish their shoe shopping.  I used the same Sheila E lyrics for this card. I feel as though they're on top of a building at lunch, chatting and watching the city around them.

So that's week one.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I've got album pages to finish distressing.  Laters!

Snow Thank You with Just Imagine Crafts!

Happy Monday everyone!  Today has brought some very unexpected snow and ice to my neck of the woods, so I thought a snowy thank you card would be great today.

I used three great Kreaxions to make this card.  First I used the Circle Cutter to cut the white and blue circles.  Then I lined my circle up with the Stencils to figure out where to punch my snowflakes.  Last I grabbed Punch 312 (super popular in my house!) to add the snowflake detailing and voila!

Thanks so much for looking and be sure to check out what the rest of the design team is up to this week!  Laters!

What's Up Butterfly with Just Imagine Crafts!

Happy Monday everyone!  I've got a great snowy card for you today, because I myself am buried in snow!  I wanted winter, well guess what?  I got it!!

I used the ultra-versatile Kreaxions Butterfly Die to make this embellishment.  I punched it with Punch 312 and added glitter for contrast.  I really like how you can use any punch to customize the butterfly die.

Be sure to visit the Just Imagine Crafts Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team is up to this week.  Thanks so much for visiting.  Laters!
