#HAPPY

I'm having a happy Monday today, and I got my Tim Holtz June tag finished JUST in time for the deadline tonight!  I actually had it almost finished for two weeks, it just needed a bow and a charm and it took me awhile to do it even though that's the "easy" part.

I think the heart charm really pops, I love it.

I love all the Hashtag stamps so I used lots of them om this tag.  I chose #happy to be the main sentiment because I'm super duper happy today, this is my 400th blog post!!!  YAY ME!!!  I made it here before my 3rd Blogiversary next month.  That was one of my goals and I'm happy to have achieved it!

I'm entering this in the Tim Holtz June tag contest and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

Unity Friends With Flair

Every week about eleven-thirty pm on Friday night I go OH CRAP! I forgot to make a card for Unity FWF.  And then I promise that I'll make one in plenty of advance for the following Friday.  Lather, rinse, repeat.

This week I remembered around three am Friday morning. That's MORE than early enough to make a card!

I haven't done a really vintage card in awhile so that's the way my thoughts were trending when I reached into a grab bag of Unity stamps I got with an order last year and pulled out a large bird in a tree.  I instantly thought of watercolors and here's what I came up with.

See it's vintagey, but also not.  I think the burlap ribbon adds an extra nature element to the card.

I'm linking this up with Unity Fridays With Flair!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting!  Laters!

Decisions, Decisions

The last few days, I've had a bit of a creative block.  This happens every so often, and I know the best thing is to try and just keep on creating, but sometimes I think that's a mistake.  I made a card today, and it's.....not a pretty card.  It was supposed to be CAS, inspired by a challenge, but I just don't like how it came together.  And it had a lot of little pieces so it took awhile, and....well see what I mean?

It's just so....blah.  You can't even see that the snow is shimmery.  I couldn't decide if I liked the sleigh, if it looked off-scale.  Then I couldn't decide if I liked the presents, or if they should've been bigger.  IDK I'm very eh about the whole design.  It was so cute in my head....this always happens.

I think I'm going to enter it in the challenge I made it for anyways, but I'm just not happy with it.

Thanks so much for looking.  I'm off to work on something else to try and jog my muse.  Laters!!

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge with Crafty Girls!!!

It's time for another fun challenge at Crafty Girls and this fortnight it's Anything Goes as always.  We've got two fabulous sponsors this time around, Bugaboo Stamps and Sassy Studio Designs!  I've got two cards to share with you 'cause I just couldn't decide between the two.

For Bugaboo, I decided to celebrate Christmas in June and use Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette for my card.  I LOVE blue and silver for Christmas cards, I think it looks so elegant.  Bugaboo's prize for this challenge is seven digi stamps of your choice!

I wanna enter this card in a few challenges:
For Sassy Studio, I decided to make something I never make so I went with a Get Well Soon card.  They seem to be a bit of a challenge for me like masculine cards are.  Sassy Studio's prize for this challenge is four digis of your choice!

Something Old/Something New Challenge with Hobbycutz!!

Happy Sunday!  This is such a fun week at Hobbycutz Challenges, our theme is Something Old/Something New!  There's so many ways you can interpret that!  Our sponsor this week is the awesome Kenny K Downloads.

The image I chose to use is Fun Faerie and when I saw her wings, I instantly pictured micro glass beads on them.  I figured that could be my Something Old.

It's hard to see them in the photo but the beads coat the wings.  I love how it looks in person.

I used a few Something Olds on this card: The micro glass beads, loose glitter, patterned paper.  The Something News I used were: Hashtag stamp set, banner stamp and die set.

Last but not least, the Hobbycutz die cut embellishment I used on this card is from the Dotty Flower set.

I'm of course entering some challenges:
Be sure and play along with our challenge this week!  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

Compendium of Curiosities 3 - Challenge 4

Happy Friday!  My weekend is off to a crafty start, I managed to finish my COC3 card like, twelve hours early.  WOOHOO!!!  The lovely sponsor of this week's COC3 Challenge is The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

The challenge this week is #49 Layering Stencils with Texture Paste.  If you don't have a copy of Compendium of Curiosities 3, you can order a copy here.  I didn't actually have any texture paste and realized this too late to order any, so I got onto Pinterest and made my own!!

I actually had to make three batches.  The first one, with flour and baby oil, was a DISASTER!  The second one, with flour, paint and Mod Podge, never ever got blended and smooth.  It stayed clumpy and I'll have to make a post with a photo of how it turned out 'cause it wasn't good.  My third try was a keeper!!  Baking soda, paint and Mod Podge.  Awesomeness.  The only issue I had with it was that it didn't really resist ink at all.  So with that in mind, I altered the original plan for the my project and created this.  I didn't wanna risk tearing my ink blending tool on the texture paste so I used Distress Stains instead and I think it was a great idea.

Now if you're wondering where the texture paste is, I'm going to show you!

See the stars in the background?  I left the middle section intentionally white to create a red, white and blue background.  Then I stamped overtop the entire tag with Archival Ink.

In this photo you can really see the stars in the red section.  They stay a bit lighter than the background but still take color.

I'm entering this in just a few challenges:
Thank you SO much for looking and happy crafting!  Laters!

Last Minute Wishes

Once again, I'm at the very last minute to get a card into the Tis The Season Stamping Challenge!  I always somehow let time get away from me and then I PANIC!  LOL.  But I managed to get it done in time, yay!  It was such an unusual color mix for me, but I like how it came out.

Of course I'm entering this in a few challenges:

Father's Day/Masculine Challenge with Hobbycutz!!

Happy Sunday all!  We've got a new challenge at Hobbycutz this week and the theme is Father's Day/Masculine!

Before I share my project, I have some awesome news.  We are running a DT Call!  Hobbycutz is looking to add a few new designers to our amazing team.  To apply, send an email with a short bio and examples of your work to hobbycutz@gmail.com by June 22nd.  Good luck!

Our sponsor this challenge is Limited Run Stamps!  I wanted to use something fun for this card since I always struggle with masculine themes.  I picked Dog and Hydrant which I think is adorable.  For my embellishment, I chose to use the Sign Posts from the Hobbycutz shop to make this Father's Day card.

I want to enter this in a few challenges:

Liberty

Ya'all prolly know that I'm pretty patriotic.  I love all things red, white and blue.  My aunt's birthday is at the end of May, so she always gets a USA-themed card from me.  This year I wanted something really awesome, so I used my brand-new, can't believe I (FINALLY!) have it Pop N Cuts die.

I love how the glitter has shading in it.  That wasn't entirely what I was going for but I love it.

The balloon-filled inside.  I'm so psyched with how it looks.

I'm of course entering a bunch of challenges:

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 3 - Week 3

Happy Hump Day!!!  I was so mad at myself for missing the 2nd challenge but I am here and READY for the third week of the COC3 Challenge.  The lovely Linda Ledbetter is hosting the challenge, and this week we're focusing on the Faux Tea Roses technique.  If you don't have a copy of Compendium of Curiosities 3, you can order one here!

I wanted to make a tag and turn it into a card, so I decided to just wing an idea and I wound up loving it.

I knew I wanted to create the tag in the spring color palette.  My old marker spritzer isn't really working (NOTE TO SELF: Go buy Tim's at Michaels this weekend) so the card background didn't really turn out, but I'm super happy with it.

This week's COC3 Challenge is being sponsored by Inspiration Emporium.  Thanks Inspiration Emporium!

I'm entering a few challenges of course:

Anything Goes/Monochromatic NEW Challenge with Creative Moments!!

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Moments and this fortnight our theme is Anything Goes/Monochromatic!  We're being sponsored by the always beautiful The East Wind.  I've picked Aurora Daisy and wanted to work mostly in greens.

I wanna enter this card in a few challenges:

Peace On Earth

Every year I make holiday cards with a "Peace On Earth" sentiment or something similar.  I stop and think how much better things would be if we all tried to live in peace.

The theme this challenge at Jingle Belles is PEACE.  It's such an inspiring theme, so I definitely wanted to make time to create a card. I had grand delusions (lol) of a crazy colorful card with peace signs and a Christmas tree, but instead I went traditional with the white, blue and silver palette.

I'd never used this stamp before.  I'm thinking it'll be a favorite.

I'm of course entering some challenges:

Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  I'm off to work on my Tim Holtz tag of the month. I NEVER start them this early!  Laters!

Christmas In The Air

The other day I was in Hobby Lobby and I overheard the manager (who I dislike immensely--can't remember if I've shared that story or not) telling a customer that the Christmas stuff would be in store next week.  Christmas!!!  In June!  I'll admit I've been busy making Christmas cards to not have to scurry like a wild person throughout the November and December months of craziness the way I always do.  But shopping for Christmas items this early? (And at full price??!)  IDK how I feel about that.  I'm thinking that it'll be great to kinda scope everything out now but June.....

Anyways, the cards I've been making.  There's a great inspiration challenge this week at Tis The Season Stamping and I wanted to make a card specifically for it.  I won a prize from them a few weeks ago and really wanted to use it on this card.

Their challenge is photo inspiration right now, with this photo:

IDK why I saw a blue snowflake background first thing, when I looked at it.

I'm of course entering some challenges:

Thank you so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

New COLOR Challenge with The Craft Garden!!

It's the first of the month and that means it's time for a new challenge at The Craft Garden!  This month we've got a COLOR theme for you!  To get you into the summer mood our challenge is to make a card using:

ORANGE, YELLOW AND LIME

I loved the opportunity to play with COLOR and here's what I created this month:

I've been experimenting with my Copics on different kids of paper.  This is a shinier finish and I like how the markers took to it.

You can enter our challenge up to THREE times!  Be sure to visit our blog and see what the other DT members created!  Thanks so much for playing and happy crafting!  Laters!

**Men Only** - New Challenge With Mema's Crafts!

YAY it's JUNE!!  I'm so excited to share my first DT post for Mema's Crafts with you!  This month our theme is MEN ONLY (Masculine cards) and we've got two great sponsors!  Firstly is Bugaboo Stamps.  I've chosen the Dog Gone It Bobblehead digi for this card.

I don't know how much you can see it in this photo, but his head actually bobbles!  I made a little springy embellishment to make it move when you move the card.  This photo shows the motion a tiny bit better.

Our second sponsor this month is The Stamping Chef!  I used to be on their DT and their digis are fun, sexy and unique.  Being a vampire lover, I chose to use Coffin Break!

I actually started to color her to look like Victoria from Twilight, but now that she's finished, I think she looks more like Rosalie (yes, I'm a Twihard and proud of it!!).

Thank you so much for looking and make sure you play along with our Men Only challenge this month!  You may enter up to three times.  Happy crafting!!  Laters!
